Pigment
A poem written and directed by Sisley Loubet
I rise,
Saffron, Royal
A dark Knight in the clouds
“Tormented by their hands horribly red
From the blood of their ci-vi-li-zation”
I’m overexposed
Milky you
Ivory me
Bathed in the Egyptian Sea
And still, I rise,
Sunny,
Passion,
Sunflower,
Deep,
Curry me through
In the golden Amazon where I once found refuge
Until the poppies bloomed
From the drunkenness
Of this colorless debate
The abyss of our turmoil
I’m overexposed
Milky me,
Ivory you,
Ebony you,
Charcoal me,
Bloody you,
Carmine me
Liquor - ish US!
“From the blood of their ci-vi-li-zation”…
Damas said it! I repeat it!
Colors have so many faces
So can you see? Eye? We?
Or does a word affect your perception of me?
